Accident while cleaning drain in Kattappana; three labourers killed

KATTAPPANA: A tragic accident occurred in Kattappana when three workers cleaning a hotel drain lost their lives after getting trapped inside it. The incident happened at a hotel named Orange. Two of the deceased have been identified as Cumbum native Jayaram and Gudalur native Selvam. The third person is yet to be identified.

The workers, all from Tamil Nadu, got trapped inside the drain. One worker went missing first, and when two others went in search of him, they too got trapped. Rescue teams, along with locals, tried to save them, but all three were later confirmed dead. Officials said the lack of oxygen inside the drain made the situation worse and led to the tragedy.
