Actor Maniyan Pilla Raju released on station bail, car taken into custody

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the case of a car and a bike collision leaving two youths seriously injured, actor Maniyan Pilla Raju, who was driving the car, was subjected for a medical examination and released on station bail. The car was recovered and has been taken into police custody. After the accident, the actor headed towards Tennis Club and from there, he went home. The front bumper of the car is completely damaged. The number plate is also broken. The Volvo car bearing registration number KL 01CJ 0004 met with the accident.

A case has been registered by the Museum Police. Three serious charges have been imposed. The FIR includes charges such as driving in a manner that endangers human life, failing to provide first aid to the injured, and not informing the police of the accident in time.

The actor did not stop the car after the accident. The accident happened in front of the Trivandrum Club at around 10 pm last night. The police later arrived at the actor’s house at night, but the house was locked. The police also informed that his phone was switched off. Nived Krishna and Sooraj are the two who sustained serious injuries in the accident. Both are natives of Thiruvananthapuram. Nived suffered head injuries and fractured both his legs. The second has a spinal injury. Meantime, the actor told a media that he did not stop the car out of fear. The actor’s car was later found from behind the Tennis Club in Kowdiar.

‘The accident occurred while he was returning after attending a function. I was not drunk. The accident occurred while coming out from Trivandrum Club. I entered the road after making sure that there was no vehicle. When I crossed the road and approached the bend, a bike came at a very high speed and hit the car. Both fell on the road. I did not stop out of fear. I went to the police station and informed about the accident in the morning. I was alone in the car. The car is in Jawahar Nagar,' the actor said.

The youths injured in the accident were first admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital but later shifted them to a private hospital.

The youths said the actor’s car hit their bike. They told a media that the car dragged their bike for a while and the locals there rushed them to the hospital.
