KANNUR: The statement of TV Prasanth, who levelled corruption allegations against Kannur ADM Naveen Babu, has been recorded. Prasanth gave his statement at the Kannur Town police station. It is not clear what details the police sought from Prashanth. Prasanth left without answering questions from the media.
Meantime, Health Minister Veena George said that TV Prasanth is not a government official at present. It is learned that TV Prasanth is a regular employee of Pariyaram Medical College. However, the minister told the media today that Prashanth has not become a government employee and he will not be regularised. It is not known whether Prashanth himself is the applicant of the pump. The minister said the matter will be directly investigated by the principal secretary of health.
"I knew Naveen Babu, who was ADM, for a long time. Naveen is someone who was determined not to tell a single lie in his life. I have known him since his student days. TV Prasanth is not a government employee. If Prashanth is a contract worker, he will be removed from the job. Evidence is required to go ahead legally. An investigation is underway. Legal advice will be sought today. Prasanth is no longer needed in service. We do not intend to regularise him," the minister said.
