KOCHI: Sandith who earlier showed his mettle by making India’s first solar ferry boat is back in news for his newly built solar fish boat. Five boats completed and named “Sravu” is currently on a testing run in the sea. Countries including Singapore and Angola have earmarked the boat and are busy pinning for negotiation talks. If the international legal barrier is passed with ease, the boat can be acquired by foreign countries at Rs 10 to 15 lakhs.

Sandith is a native of Thrissur, Triprayar. The boats designed by him were worked in Kerala startup Navalt solar and electric boats private limited in Alappuzha. Sandith a naval architect graduate from madras IIT also has in his baggage vital experience serving in a Korean ship production company. Sandith moves ahead with such a project at a time when electric vehicles are failing to get traction among the public.

Earlier Sandith made a solar ferry boat named “Aditya” which he gave to the central government. The move was appreciated and the popularity gained helped Sandith to confidently proceed with his other works.

The new invention of a solar fish boat is mainly intended to help fishermen who venture into the sea at dawn and come back at night. The solar power charge will enable the boat a work time of eight hours. Now countries including Chile, Argentina, Congo, Ireland, and Thailand are up with exciting offers to take away the ‘Sravu” boat of Sandith’s.
