Attappadi native, attacked by wild elephant, succumbs to injuries

PALAKKAD: A man undergoing treatment after being attacked by an elephant in Attappadi died on Sunday. Kaali, a native of Attappadi Pudur is the victim. Kaali, attacked by elephant while collecting firewood in the forest, was undergoing specialist treatment at a hospital in the district. The incident took place at noon today.

Kaali, who suffered serious leg injuries, was admitted to Kottathara Hospital by forest department officials. Kaali was then transferred to another hospital for specialist treatment, but his life could not be saved.

The elephant had stomped on his chest and thrown him away using its trunk, which resulted in the brutal leg injury.
