SALFORD: The head of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced the company's decision to stop broadcasting the channel on television by 2030 and instead extend its presence online.
The BBC confirmed that its channels will move exclusively online and will no longer use traditional broadcast systems. The new announcement follows the switch from standard definition (SD) satellite broadcasts on BBC satellites to high definition (HD) versions from January 8 last year.
The BBC, a British public service broadcaster, was founded in 1922. It began operating under its current name on New Year's Day 1927.

Since its formation in 1922, the BBC has played a significant role in British life and culture. In 1923, the BBC launched the first broadcast listings magazine, Radio Times.
