THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BEVCO, Kerala State Beverages (M&M) Corporation Limited, is all set to digitise liquor sales at premium counters. Bevco has decided to make liquor sales through UPI and card payments. The management believes that eliminating currency exchange will reduce congestion at the counters and ensure accurate transaction records. It is reported that cash will not be accepted from February 15.

However, employee organisations raised strong opposition to this decision. Employees say that the possibility of disputes at the counters will increase due to technical glitches, network problems, and customers unfamiliar with card/UPI payments.
