BJP announces its candidates for by-polls; C Krishnakumar in Palakkad, Navya Haridas in Wayanad, K Balakrishnan in Chelakkara

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections in Kerala. Navya Haridas will contest against Priyanka Gandhi in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. C Krishnakumar will contest in the Palakkad assembly constituency, while K Balakrishnan will be the candidate in Chelakkara. The candidates were announced after the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting in Delhi.

BJP state president K Surendran was the party's candidate in Wayanad in the last Lok Sabha election. Earlier, reports had claimed that the party was considering the names of Sobha Surendran and AP Abdullakutty as its candidate in Wayanad. CPI leader Satyan Mokeri is the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate in Wayanad.
