THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested in a case of spying for Pakistan, had come to Kerala for the inauguration of the Vande Bharat train. Video of Jyoti participating in the Vande Bharat inaugural journey is now being discussed. It is reported that Jyoti travelled from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram on the inaugural journey of Vande Bharat in 2023. The then Union Minister V Muraleedharan was also present on the inaugural journey. Jyoti is seen seeking a response from V Muraleedharan in the footage.

It was reported earlier that Jyoti had come to Kerala at the invitation of the state government. An RTI document was also released stating that Jyoti had come to Kerala as part of the promotion of the Tourism Department. Jyoti Malhotra was on the list of social media influencers used by the Tourism Department for its promotion. It is clear that Jyothi Malhotra travelled to Kannur, Kozhikode, Kochi, Alappuzha, and Munnar at the expense of the Tourism Department.
