THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and Thampanoor Railway Station received bomb threats on Sunday. The threat message was sent to the airport manager's email address around noon today. In the wake of the threat message, searches were intensified at the airport. The police have concluded that it is a fake message. A bomb squad is conducting a search at the railway station.
Various collectorates in the state received the bomb messages. Although searches were conducted based on this, nothing could be found. The threat messages were received in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Palakkad and Kottayam collectorates.
Hotels in Thiruvananthapuram city received bomb threat messages the other day. The bomb threat messages were received at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram and Gokulam Grand Hotel in Akkulam. The hotel authorities informed the police about the message.
A hotel near the Secretariat and a hotel near the Akkulam bridge in bypass received fake bomb threats around 11 am yesterday. The police brought in dogs and the bomb squad searched the whole area. A message was sent to the email of a private hotel in Thampanoor that a bomb had been planted in a hotel near the secretariat. After being informed by the hotel authorities, the cantonment police reached the spot and inspected it. Fire force vehicles were also ready. Although the belongings of the residents were checked, nothing unusual was found.
With this, the previously arranged programs were held in the hotel on time. The email message that came to the hotel in Akkulam said that a bomb had been planted and that it would explode by noon. Subsequently, the bomb squad and Thumba police inspected the hotel premises and rooms. The inspection was carried out without evacuating the residents.
