Came to see waterfall; car falls into gorge while turning; incident at Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Two injured as car falls into gorge. The accident took place at Thottilpalam Chappanthottam in Kozhikode. The car of those who came to see the waterfall had an accident.

The car fell into the gorge while turning. A man from Thaleekkara who was injured in the accident was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was driving the car. A child in the car suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, an accident occurred in the capital when a police jeep overturned into a canal. The vehicle at the Petta police station overturned into the Parvati Puthannar. The accident happened at a place called Attuvaramp at around 2.30 am today.

The police vehicle was giving way to an oncoming vehicle while travelling on a narrow road near Parvati Puthannar. Meanwhile, the driver was blinded by light and then the jeep went out of control and fell into the water. Locals say that the vehicle broke the side wall and crashed into Parvati Puthannar with a loud noise. Only one SI and the driver were in the jeep. They came ashore immediately. The jeep was later lifted to shore using a crane. It is reported that the policemen are not injured.
