Car owner forgets handbrake, vehicle rolls away on busy road; major accident averted

KOTTAYAM: A car rolled away moments after its owner got out of the vehicle to enter a shop. The incident took place at Alumthara on the Erattupetta-Thodupuzha Road. Video footage of the incident, which occurred around 7.30 am on Friday, has now surfaced. The car owner parked the vehicle and went to the shop without applying the handbrake. Several vehicles were passing through the road at the time.

The car rolled backwards, crossed to the other side of the road and hit an iron fence. A major accident was narrowly avoided as the car did not collide with any other vehicles.
