THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ports Minister Ahamed Devarkovil said the central forces are not required to provide security in Vizhinjam. He said the government has not asked to deploy central forces and the Kerala Police is sufficient for law and order.

He also clarified that the construction company demanded the deployment of central forces. The unintelligent are demanding to stop the project. The government had earlier informed the high court that they have no objection in deploying central forces for security in Vizhinjam.

Minister Antony Raju had the other day stated that it was the Adani Group who demanded the deployment of central forces to maintain security in the Vizhinjam port area and not the government. He said the court only asked the opinion of the government.
