MALAPPURAM: Kanthapuram Aboobacker Musliyar criticized the government for the change in school timings. He said that changes in the education sector should be deliberate and based on clear studies.
The concerns of students and parents on the present changes should be solved, he said after inaugurating the Malappuram leadership camp of the Kerala Muslim Jamaat.
Samastha leader Nasar Faizy Koodathai also criticized the change in school timings. He added that the Pinarayi government is adopting a fascist approach and that these are anti-democratic moves.
Meantime, KCBC President and Malankara Catholic Church Head Cardinal Baselios Mar Clemmis had the other day said that the government should have shown maturity in discussing with the people concerned before implementing the change in school timings, Zumba dance, etc.
Since the goal is quality education, it is not enough to consult one or two organizations. The issue of making prayers in schools’ secular has not come up for discussion. Prayers cannot be changed like that. Violent protests cause losses to the education sector itself. Cardinal Baselios Mar Clemmis had also clarified that the methods of expressing dissent should change.
