THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC's long-distance superclass buses will henceforth offer food from fast food restaurant chain Chicking. Passengers can order food from the bus. The food will arrive in parcels at the nearest bus stand or from Chicking stores along the route. Minister KB Ganesh Kumar announced at a press conference that an agreement was reached between KSRTC and Chicking in this regard.

In the first phase, food will be distributed in five superclass services and budget tourism trips. A QR code will be displayed on the bus to facilitate food ordering. A special website for booking will be launched soon, the minister said.

The food will be served at 25 per cent discount compared to the general rate. KSRTC will get five per cent of the sales share. The minister said that the agreement also includes a provision to provide free food to the driver and conductor when the bus stops.
