CM Pinarayi Vijayan leaves for Mayo Clinic in US

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan left for the United States for treatment with his family this morning. The journey is via Dubai.

It is reported that the Chief Minister will be undergoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, US for about ten days. The trip was scheduled two months in advance. His wife, Kamala Vijayan and grandson Ishan are accompanying him on the journey.

As usual, no person has been delegated responsibilities in CM's absence. It is believed that the chief minister will attend most of the crucial meetings online. Some opposition leaders have used the Chief Minister’s ill-timed American trip as a political tool to target the government amidst worsening controversies in the Kerala health sector.
