PATHANAMTHITTA: A Police Association District Secretary was suspended for threatening a senior civil police officer over the phone. Association District Secretary Nishanth Chandran was suspended after it was learned that he had threatened senior civil police officer Pushpadas of Thiruvalla station.

The threat was issued against the CPO after he used his connections to take Sabarimala duty, circumventing the list prepared by the Police Association. An audio recording of Nishanth threatening a senior civil police officer surfaced.

In the audio, Nishanth said Pushpadas challenged the association by going on duty at the Sannidhanam. Nishanth said he would teach the CPO a lesson after the latter returns from duty. He also used expletives at Pushpadas. It is reported that there has been a dispute ongoing between the two officers for some time.
