KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the Congress is facing defeat in Kerala and in order to overcome this, they formed the ‘Co-Le-B’ alliance. The Congress, Muslim League, and the BJP together fielded candidates in favor of the BJP in the Vadakara parliament seat and Beypore assembly seat. While addressing the media, he said the Left Front was able to defeat them.
‘In the assembly elections held in 2021, the two groups made intense efforts to defeat the LDF. With the intervention of the BJP, central agencies circled Kerala to help the Congress and the UDF. Both groups are moving in the same manner. At different stages, both are intervening to weaken the LDF,’ alleged the chief minister.
Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier accused the Congress of being a party that has no hesitation in aligning with BJP-League combinations. He alleged that the BJP opening its account in Nemom in 2016 was the result of a Congress-BJP deal. In return for the Nemom victory, the BJP has helped the Congress in another constituency. When this information came out, the voters helped the LDF to win. He also claimed that the RSS openly stated that it supported the Congress in 41 constituencies. He added that the Left Front has maintained a firm stand against the RSS without any compromise. The LDF’s stand is to close BJP’s account in Nemom and this was achieved in the last election. However, he alleged that the Congress had made a compromise.
