Corporation building roof collapse in Thrissur city; Municipal Office road traffic blocked

THRISSUR: The roof of the fifth floor of the corporation building on MO Road in Thrissur city collapsed and fell onto the road, blocking traffic. The cement blocks that were securing the iron roof also fell down. Although it was a busy time, no one was injured. The fire brigade reached the spot and started efforts to restore traffic by removing the roof.

The roof fell due to strong winds and rain. The accident happened on the way to Shakthan Stand in front of the municipal office. Many vehicles always pass through this route. There are complaints that the authorities did not pay enough attention even though the locals complained that the roof had collapsed.
