KANNUR: Mini Nambiar, a BJP leader has been granted bail in the murder case of her husband, an auto driver in Payyannur. The Thalassery Principal Sessions Court granted bail to Mini, the third accused in the case. The incident happened on March 20. Mini's friend Santhosh shot her husband Radhakrishnan to death. Mini was charged with conspiracy. Radhakrishnan was shot dead inside their under-construction house. The police had found that Mini had contacted Santhosh on the phone before and after the murder.

Mini and Santhosh were classmates. The two met again at an alumni meet held six months ago. Santhosh had posted a photo of the two holding hands on Facebook taken when they went for a trip to Kannur. Following this, there was a fight and argument between Radhakrishnan and his wife. Santhosh is unmarried. The couple has two children. Radhakrishnan had beat his wife over it. Santhosh had given a statement that this led to the murder.

The locals first thought that it was the sound of bursting crackers. Radhakrishnan's son informed the people about the incident. When the locals rushed to the spot, they found Radhakrishnan lying in a pool of blood on the veranda. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. When the police and others reached the spot and conducted a search, Santhosh was nabbed from the area. Radhakrishnan was shot on his chest. A country-made gun was used for the murder.
