KOZHIKODE: Former Koduvally MLA Karat Razack returned to Muslim League from CPM ahead of the crucial assembly polls. Razack reached Panakkad today and accepted membership. He arrived in Panakkad along with Youth League state general secretary P K Firoz and former minister M K Muneer. Karat Razack, who left the league, had won from Koduvally as an independent with the support of the CPM in 2016. But he lost to M K Muneer in 2021.

Razack, in his response to the media, said that he has decided to return to his ‘ancestral home’ and work in the parent organisation.

“It was a decision taken last night. The rethinking was done because the problems were not resolved. I am joining the league without any conditions. I will work in the league with double power to compensate for the lost ten years. After the defeat in 2021, the CPM continuously ignored me. I even had to file a complaint with the state leadership.” Razak also said that he was made the chairman of the Madrasa Teachers' Welfare Fund Board as part of the strategy before the Lok Sabha elections.

Muslim League state president Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said that Razak resigned from the league during an election ten years ago and made his return during another election season.
