THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information emerged in connection with the death of the youth, who was denied treatment at the Vilappilsala Primary Health Center. The dead is Bismeer (37) of Kollamkonam. The tragic incident happened on January 19. CCTV visuals of the youth reaching the hospital and experiencing difficulty in breathing had surfaced.

The youth was brought to the primary health center by his wife Jasmine on a scooter. The footage shows Jasmine going inside the hospital many times but none came out. Bismeer has been suffering from heart ailments since the age of 13. Meantime, information is emerging that the gate of the primary health center was opened, but the door was closed so that no one could enter.

The people at the primary health center told Jasmine to take him to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital as early as possible. The youth died before reaching the hospital. Meantime, the authorities have clarified that all the treatment that could be provided at the family health center was provided. The authorities have also informed that the service of a doctor was made available and oxygen support, nebulization and injections were given.

The family of the youth has filed a complaint with the district medical officer over the incident. The family alleged that the hospital staff only advised steam inhalation and failed to provide even primary treatment despite clear symptoms of a heart attack.
