THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Pavithran, deputy tehsildar of Vellarikundu taluk, has been suspended for his Facebook post insulting Ranjitha G Nair, victim of Ahmedabad plane crash. Pavithran’s insulting post was from the profile 'Pavi Anandashramam'. The words in the post were full of obscenity and insulting womanhood. His post said Ranjitha met with the accident because she had taken leave from the Kerala government and gone abroad.
In another post shared under Ranjitha's picture, Pavithran had also commented let her reach greater heights.
The post was deleted from social media soon after it stoked a controversy. However, screenshots of the post were widely circulated. Action was taken against Pavithran earlier for his post on social media against former minister and Kanhangad MLA E Chandrasekharan.
Ranjitha G Nair (39) was killed when she was about to return home and resume her job in the health department. Ranjitha, a nurse in the UK from Pullad in Pathanamthitta, was a nurse in Oman 10 years ago. From there, she reached home and wrote the PSC examination. She got a job as a nurse in the health department. She joined the Pathanamthitta District Hospital, left for Oman after taking a five-year leave.
She joined Muscat SQH Hospital a year ago. From there, she reached UK. The decision was to return in September and join Kozhencherry District Hospital. She arrived home on Saturday to submit the necessary documents for that. On Wednesday, she boarded a flight from Kochi to return to UK. The journey to the UK was via Chennai to Ahmedabad. The completion of the new house being built next to her family home was her dream.
