THRISSUR: A Special police officer was brutally beaten up by a gang for questioning a traffic violation in Guruvayur. Konnedath Harish, a native of Vattekkad, suffered injuries in the incident that took place at Manjulal Junction around 7 am today.

The bus ferrying Sabarimala devotees from Tamil Nadu went down the flyover and turned right instead of turning left. Even though Harish had instructed them to turn left, the bus kept moving forward. Harish reached behind and hit the bus with his hand. The rear glass on the left side of the bus broke, injuring Harish's hand. Following this, the Tamil Nadu natives and bus staff got out of the bus and roughed him up. The injured Harish was admitted to the Devaswom Medical Centre. The bus was taken into custody by the Guruvayur Temple Police.
