THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report led by ADGP Ajith Kumar in connection with the Thrissur Pooram disruption has been submitted to the DGP. The report has been submitted after five months. Initially, it was told to submit the report within a week. However, the investigation report has been submitted now after much controversy. The 600-page report in a sealed cover was delivered to the DGP's office via Messenger. However, since the DGP is not in the office, he will examine the report only tomorrow.

Chief Minister had informed in a press conference this morning that the inquiry report has been ordered to be submitted before the 24th. He dismissed allegations that there was something unusual in the delay in the investigation. The chief minister rejected the demand of the CPI, a constituent party, to keep Ajith Kumar, who had met RSS leaders and stood as a spectator in Thrissur when pooram was disrupted, should be kept away from law and order duties.

On April 21, the chief minister had ordered a probe into the pooram disruption. The report was to be submitted within a week. Not only was it not completed even after five months, the police had replied that there was no investigation to an RTI question. When this was pointed out, the chief minister said that the investigation was going on well. Some more time was sought last week when the chief minister's office inquired as to why the report was not given. It was then that it was ordered that the investigation should be completed and a report should be submitted before the 24th, the CM said.
