THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian said that the delay in publishing the report of the Justice Hema Commission appointed to study the problems of women in the film industry should not be blamed on the government. The minister also pointed out that there is no doubt that the suggestions in the report are a matter that needs serious consideration.
"I don't know if the Hema Commission was shocked to hear the statements of the actresses. I have not read the full version of the report, I have only seen the recommendation," the minister said. The government has decided to organize a film conclave within two months. The problems and solutions in the film-serial sector will be discussed in detail. Minister Saji Cherian said that representatives of all fields of cinema will be brought to the conclave.
"Organizations like WCC have brought some things to our attention. It was decided that a cinema conclave should be organized, based on this. I have not received any complaint from any actress in the three and a half years that I have been a minister," said Saji Cherian. "The government's stand on the issue related to the film industry is transparent. It is necessary to intervene in the film-serial field. What needs to be done now is to prepare guidelines," the minister said.
