Double cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal; heavy rain for two days; alert in eight districts including Ernakulam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The heavy rains that started in Kerala on Wednesday night due to the influence of the double cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal have not subsided. The southern districts received intermittent heavy rains on Thursday also. The same pattern will continue in the central and southern districts for two more days. There will be a decrease in rain after Saturday. There is a possibility of strong thunderstorms. There will be heavy rain in the northern districts on Saturday. The cyclonic circulation over the central and north-eastern Bay of Bengal will strengthen today and become a low pressure. It will then move westwards and strengthen into an extreme low pressure in the central Bay of Bengal and enter the Andhra Pradesh coast on the 27th.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur

Possibility of violent sea along Kerala coast

There is a possibility of violent sea along Kerala coast due to high waves. Fishing is not allowed.

Strong winds

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. People should be alert.
