Dr C G Jayachandran appointed new superintendent of Thiruvananthapuram MCH

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr C G Jayachandran has been appointed as the new superintendent of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Dr B S Sunil Kumar had given a letter to the college principal requesting that he be relieved from the superintendent’s post.

Dr Sunil Kumar’s letter said that as a neuro surgeon he wants to focus on his work and so demanded to relieve him from the post. The revelations of Dr Haris Chirakkal, head of the department of Urology, over the equipment shortage in the hospital and the press meet Sunil Kumar attended had stoked a controversy.

Sunil Kumar, who came to the hospital yesterday, had not reached the superintendent's office. He performed surgeries and left after duty. As Sunil Kumar was not interested in continuing in that post, he was relieved and C G Jayachandran was appointed to the post.
