Drove KSRTC bus at high speed; driver's license suspended

MALAPPURAM: The license of a KSRTC bus driver has been suspended for overspeeding. The action was taken in connection with the incident where the driver drove the bus at high speed, ignoring the instructions of the traffic police. The license of Palakkad Kongad native Vinod has been suspended for six months. The Motor Vehicle Department took the action based on the incident that took place at Thazhekkod in Perinthalmanna on August 25.

CCTV footage of the incident had earlier surfaced, showing the bus speeding past as students were crossing the road on a zebra line. The children had a narrow escape from being hit. Action against the driver comes nearly a month after the incident.
