Eighth class boy dies of electrocution at school in Kollam

KOLLAM: In a tragic incident, a boy of eighth class died after electrocuted in school. The incident happened in Thevalakkara Boys School. The dead is Mithun (13). He was electrocuted when he was trying to take his slipper which had fallen on top of the school building.

The incident happened Thursday morning at around 10:30 am today. While playing with his friends, his slipper fell on top of the school building. He was electrocuted while trying to take it. The initial conclusion is that the accident happened after he came in contact with a high-voltage power line lying low. He was electrocuted when he touched the power line while trying to take his slipper.

The local residents, including students came to the fore soon after the incident. The power line passing near the school should be set keeping the safety of the children in mind. The people residing nearby are demanding a proper investigation. The protestors said the negligence on the part of the school led to the death of the boy.
