Eighth standard student found dead inside house; death deemed mysterious

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An 8th standard student was found hanging dead inside his house in Vellarada. Akhilesh Kumar, the son of Arula Nandakumar and Shiney, was discovered hanging from the window at home. His hands were tied behind his back with a cloth. The police have preliminarily concluded that he died by hanging. They have registered a case of unnatural death and reported that no one had entered the house from outside. Akhilesh's body has been shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

In a similar incident, a 14-year-old girl was found hanging inside her house in Chitara, Kollam. Pooja Prasad, a native of Kakkunn, was found dead by her family when she did not respond after going into her room to study. Upon breaking the door, they found her hanging from the window. She was rushed to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. The preliminary conclusion by the police is that it was a case of suicide.
