Elderly man dies in house fire in Wayanad; wife sustains serious injuries

KALPETTA: An elderly man died tragically in a fire that broke out in his house at Sultan Bathery in Wayanad. The dead is Krishnankutty of Puthenveetil in Sultan Bathery. His wife, who was with him, suffered serious burns. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Sultan Bathery.

The fire broke out last night. It is believed that the accident may have occurred while they were sleeping. Many parts, including the bedroom, were completely burnt. Although the cause of the fire is not clear, the initial conclusion is that it may have been caused by a short circuit.
