THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram District Election Administration has issued a stern warning that distributing money, liquor, or gifts to influence voters in the upcoming Assembly General Election is a punishable offence. To enforce this, specialised Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams have been deployed across the district to conduct rigorous vehicle inspections and monitor for illegal activity.
The Nodal Officer for Election Expenditure Monitoring, Nizamuddin N., has advised the public that anyone traveling with cash exceeding ₹50,000 must carry valid documentation to avoid seizure. While citizens are urged to cooperate with these security measures, those who encounter any undue difficulty during inspections may file a formal complaint with evidence at the District Collectorate.
