THRISSUR: The natives of Kasaragod were shocked when the audience went rapturous in their applause after the end of the Yakshagana (traditional stage performance and semi-classical Indian dance) performance. Despite most of the dialogues being inaudible and in Kannada, Kattukukke SS Higher Secondary School took away many appreciations from the audience and critics in the State school arts festival.
The highlight was the dance form that saw all of the participants sitting in a circle on stage. The storytelling was vibrant and engaging. The school had previously received three A grades for the dance form. The theme was taken from mythology about Arjuna recognising his son.
When Arjuna arrives with a horse, his son Babhruvahana stops him and engages in combat. Later, Arjuna's wife Chitrangada tells Babhruvahana to apologise to his father.
