Evading police by changing cars, Rahul Mamkootathil MLA enters Karnataka state

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, wanted by the police in a sexual harassment case, is reportedly in Karnataka. It is reported that Rahul entered Karnataka after reaching Coimbatore and Pollachi. The MLA is suspected to be changing cars throughout his journey. It is reported that Rahul reached Bagalur, the outskirts of Karnataka, on Monday.

Rahul Mamkootathil MLA filed a fresh plea in the sexual abuse case, demanding consideration of his anticipatory bail plea in a closed courtroom. His anticipatory bail plea will be considered tomorrow. The plea was filed in the Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court. Meanwhile, the SIT team, which is continuing in Palakkad, again reached Rahul's flat and recorded the caretaker's statement.

The SIT had concluded that Rahul and his team had destroyed the CCTV footage under the influence of the caretaker. The caretaker's statement was taken to seek more information on these. The caretaker's statement is that he left the flat at 4.30 pm last Thursday after work and that he was not aware of Rahul's arrival at the flat that evening. The caretaker said that he had not interfered with the CCTV system in any way.
