Expired soft drink served on Vande Bharat, catering staff trivializing passenger's complaint: Human Rights Commission files case

KANNUR: The Human Rights Commission has suo motu registered a case on a complaint that expired soft drinks were served to passengers on the Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat (20631) on Thursday morning. The Commission has sent a notice to the Railway Divisional Manager. The Commission's judicial member K Baijunath has asked the Palakkad Railway Divisional Manager to examine the complaint and submit a report within 15 days. The case will be considered in a sitting to be held at the Kozhikode Government Guest House on June 26.

The soft drink served on the Vande Bharat was manufactured on September 25, 2024 and expired on March 24, 2025. The passengers complained that the complaint was trivialized by the catering staff. The action is in a case registered suo motu by the Commission based on a newspaper report.
