
KOZHIKODE: The family of Deepak filed a complaint with the Commissioner, a day after his shocking suicide. Deepak, a Govindapuram native, ended his life in humiliation after a video alleging him of sexual misconduct spread like wildfire on social media. The family is demanding that a case be registered for murder against the woman who posted the video on social media. The Commissioner assured the family that action will be taken. Deepak's family said that they will forward the complaint to the Collector, Human Rights Commission and DGP.
The family alleges that the woman deliberately defamed Deepak. On Friday, Deepak was travelling in the bus as part of work-related needs. The bus was crowded, and Deepak had to stand along with many others. At this time, a woman, who was standing on the bus, filmed a video alleging that Deepak had touched her inappropriately. The family of Deepak alleged that the woman filmed the video and circulated it intentionally to garner attention on social media.
A day after the video went viral on social media, Deepak was found dead. Family members recalled that Deepak was visibly upset over the video going viral on social media and pleaded his innocence in the issue.
The Instagram account of the woman, who shared the video, was later found to be deleted. At the same time, the woman is facing a massive cyber-attack over the issue. All Kerala Men's Association, led by Rahul Easwar, filed a complaint with the DGP. It is reported that they will also file a complaint with the Chief Minister.
