Fire breaks out at garbage dumping site in Kulanada market in Pathanamthitta, efforts underway to bring fumes under control

PATHANAMTHITTA: A fire broke out at a garbage dumping site in Kulanada market in Pathanamthitta. This is the place where the garbage collected by workers of 'Haritha Karma Sena' is dumped. Firefighters have doused the fire, but efforts are still ongoing to bring the smoke under control. There is a primary health centre next to this site which is likely a health concern for the patients.

In the first stage, the locals came to douse the fire. It is not clear what kind of waste was dumped here as explosions were also heard. The top sheet of the shed was completely burnt in the incident.
