Fire breaks out in house of gunman of M M Mani; major loss estimated

IDUKKI: A major fire broke out in the storeroom of the gunman of former minister and Udumbanchola MLA M M Mani. The fire broke out in the store room adjacent to the house of Alphonse of Nalumukku Chakkalakkal.

Loss of lakhs has been estimated. Coffee, pepper, cardamom etc. are stored here in the storeroom. The initial conclusion is that the fire may have spread from the chimney while drying the rubber sheet.

A major loss has been averted as some things were shifted as soon as the fire broke out. The fire was extinguished by the locals and the fire brigade. No casualty has been reported. Alphonse was in Thiruvananthapuram at the time of the incident.
