THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Buses were found gutted in fire in the school premises in the capital city. The incident happened at the Trivandrum Scottish School in Chenkottukonam. Two buses and a traveler parked on the school grounds were completely engulfed in flames. One bus was partially burnt.

The accident happened at around 2.45 am on Monday. The cause of the fire is not clear. Only a security guard was present in the school at the time of the accident. The nearby residents first saw the fire. On being informed, the fire brigade from Chakkai and Kazhakoottam stations reached the spot and doused the fire.

There is a suspicion that someone deliberately set the buses on fire because the traveler parked on the school grounds was found in a state of being rammed on to the school bus. This was confirmed by the security. Another bus is found half burnt. The police have launched an investigation into the incident. The investigation is being conducted focusing on the CCTV footage.
