Fire breaks out in three districts in Kerala; outbreaks at middle of the night

THRISSUR: Fire accidents at night are increasing in Kerala. A fire broke out in the canteen of the Irinjalakuda General Hospital at around 1.15 am. It was the locals who noticed that the fire was spreading from the upper part of the closed canteen. Three fire force units from Irinjalakuda and Chalakudy reached the spot and doused the fire. The fire force team entered the closed canteen by breaking the door. A major accident was averted as the fire did not spread to the gas cylinder in the kitchen. The canteen was renovated and started functioning a year and a half ago. Initial information is that there has been a loss of about eight lakh rupees. The cause of the fire is yet to be resolved.

Another fire broke out at a grocery store in Vallikkulangara, Kozhikode district. The fire broke out at Harshim's store this morning. Locals who were passing by informed the fire force about the incident. The store was completely gutted. It is reported that there was a loss of lakhs. Many small businesses were operating nearby. The fire was prevented from spreading to this location, thus reducing the extent of the accident.

Another fire also broke out at a store in Mannanthala, Thiruvananthapuram last night. The fire broke out at a store selling used furniture. More than three fire force units reached the spot and doused the fire. The possibility of sabotage is also suspected behind the fire.
