Fisherman dies after boat capsizes in Muthalapozhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fisherman died after his boat overturned in Muthalapozhi. The dead is Victor, a native of Anchuthengu. The boat in which Victor was traveling capsized due to the strong current in the Muthalapozhi estuary while returning after fishing. The accident happened Thursday early morning at around 1:30 am.

Three fishermen who were in the boat with Victor escaped. They are Francis, Suresh and Yesudas. The boat which capsized is ‘Chinthadhira’ owned by Jobo from Anchuthengu. Victor was found in a search conducted by the fisheries guards and coastal police who were in the estuary at the time of the accident.

In the recent past, there have been five similar deaths in Muthalapozhi.
