
KOCHI: Former Kerala High Court judge Justice Siri Jagan (74) has passed away. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. Justice Siri Jagan, who served as a judge of the Kerala High Court from 2005 to 2014, was involved in several notable interventions in the legal field. He was a native of Mayyanad, Kollam.
After retiring from the High Court, he served as the chairman of the compensation committee for victims of stray dog attacks, formed under the direction of the Supreme Court. Through the Justice Siri Jagan Committee, established in 2016, he recommended compensation worth several crore rupees for the victims. He also held positions such as the chairman of the Sabarimala High Power Committee and as the Vice Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS).
Justice Jagan earned his LLB degree from Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, and completed his LLM from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
