Former Thiruvananthapuram district collect V V Vijayan passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior IAS official and former Thiruvananthapuram district collector V V Vijayan passed away. He was 90. He died at his daughter’s residence in Karthika at Burma Road in Kumarapuram. He had served as the district collector in Thiruvananthapuram from 1980 to 1983. He had held various official posts. He was the most honest and capable officer in the civil service.

He leaves behind his late wife Dr Baby Saraswathi (retired professor of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College) and children Dr Seema Thampy (City Dental Clinic), Dr Jaya Vijayan (USA) and Rajeev Vijayan (USA). His sons-in-law are Dr Thampy Prabhakaran (City Dental Clinic), Ajith Kumar (USA) and daughter-in-law Anju Sreenivasan (MD, Kerala Kaumudi). He will be laid to rest at Muttathara Mokshakavadam at 5 pm today.
