Four congress activists including Rahul Gandhi’s PA arrested for damaging Gandhi’s picture

KALPETTA: Four congress activists were arrested in the incident of damaging a Gandhi picture kept in Rahul Gandhi MP’s office. Congress activists including Rahul Gandhi’s personal assistant K R Ratheesh was arrested. The case is for insulting Gandhi’s picture.

The other activists arrested are Noushad, Mujeeb and Rahul Ravi. Of that, two are staffs of Rahul’s office. Though a notice was issued to five congress activists for damaging Gandhi’s picture, none appeared and following that, they were arrested.

Gandhi's picture was on the wall in the visuals after the SFI activists stormed the office. However, the picture was found damaged in the visuals shown later. It was alleged earlier that congress activists were behind it. The activists were arrested now in an investigation conducted.

Meantime, Rahul’s PA Ratheesh said that it was a fake case. CPM district secretary P Gagar said the arrest was based on evidence. It should be investigated who instigated the vandalism of the Gandhi statue, he added.
