THRISSUR: NDA candidate in Thrissur Suresh Gopi in a press conference revealed feeling doubly confident of a win with a thumping majority in the LS poll.
“The party has conducted a review. A full text of it is not yet available. After the review ended in the night, I felt doubly confident of registering a massive victory in Thrissur. Let June 4 arrive. Till then I will be attacked with trolls, memes and whatever. But I’ll wait for the day. I am a staunch believer. Above all there is a presence of god, he’ll take care of things. People are well aware of cross-voting gimmicks. They won’t succumb to it this time “said Suresh Gopi.
Meanwhile, 70.35 per cent of voters exercised their right to vote in the elections held for 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala. Voting in Vadakara, Malappuram and Kannur constituencies is reported to have extended till midnight. The glitches in EVM prolonged the voting process in these areas to late night.
Those who arrived before 6 pm on Friday were given a token and allowed to vote. Many people, including women, returned from the booths in these constituencies without voting.
