Four-year-old's death in Thrissur: Child had not swallowed bottle cap, post-mortem report is out

THRISSUR: The post-mortem report of a four-year-old boy who died in Erumapetty Adhoor has come out. According to the post-mortem report, the boy died after a pen cap got stuck in his throat. The deceased is Muhammad Shahal, the son of Adhoor native Ummar and Mufeeda. Earlier, it was believed that the child had accidentally swallowed a bottle cap while playing, which led to his death. However, the post-mortem report confirmed that it was actually a pen cap that got stuck in his throat.

The incident happened around 9 a.m. today. While playing, the child suddenly collapsed and became unconscious. Although he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, his life could not be saved. During the examination, doctors noticed something lodged in his throat. Initially, they suspected that the child had swallowed a bottle cap and choked. The post-mortem report later revealed that a pen cap was the cause of death.
