PAMPA: The historic Global Ayyappa Sangamam will be held on Saturday at the banks of Triveni in Pampa. The final preparations were reviewed under the leadership of Devaswom Minister V. N. Vasavan. 3500 delegates will participate. The number of delegates has been increased by 500 as the registration has crossed 5,000. Only those with admission passes will be admitted. Registration will be from 6 am to 9 am.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Sangamam at 9.30 am at the main venue at Triveni in Pampa. Discussions based on the master plan for the development of Sabarimala will be held at three venues. The discussion on spiritual tourism will be held at the Hill Top venue, and the discussion on crowd control will be held at the Pampa Sreerama Saketham Auditorium. The Devaswom Board will collate the information and plan further development activities.
Minister V.N. Vasavan said that the government is open to accepting sponsorship from delegates who are coming to the event. There are no restrictions from the High Court on accepting money. Devaswom Board President P S Prashanth said that the cost of organising the Ayyappa Sangamam is seven crore rupees. This amount was obtained through sponsorship.
ADGP S. Sreejith has deployed 1000 police personnel for security. Since the Sabarimala temple is open for the Kannimasam rituals, security arrangements will be made in such a way that there will be no hindrance to the devotees. Facilities will be provided to those among the Sangamam representatives who wish to visit the holy shrine.
Tamil Nadu ministers B.K. Sekhar Babu, Palanivel Thyagarajan, Thantri Kandararu Mahesh Mohanararu, SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan, NSS Vice President N. Sangeethkumar, KPMS General Secretary, Punnala Sreekumar, Malayaraya Samajam General Secretary, P.K. Sajeev, Kerala Brahmin Sabha General Secretary, Karimpuzha Raman, Swami Prabodha Theertha, representing Sivagiri Mutt, will participate in the inauguration ceremony. Representatives of Ambalappuzha and Alangad Petta Sangams will also be present.
