NEW DELHI: West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose harshly criticized the Nair Service Society (NSS) leadership. He criticized the action of preventing him from paying floral tributes at Mannam Samadhi. He was speaking at the Mannam commemoration program organized in Delhi. He revealed that when he visited the Mannam Samadhi in Perunna before taking charge as the governor, the NSS leadership did not allow him to pay floral tributes.
The Mannam memorial belongs to all Nairs. Paying floral tributes there is a fundamental right of the community members. He said that he did not go there to meet the gatekeeper, this action is completely objectionable. He clarified that the unnecessary restrictions imposed by some on the memorial are unacceptable and stopping a person who came to pay his respects at the samadhi is considered as a personal insult.
