PALAKKAD: LDF candidate P Sarin received a grand welcome from workers in the Palakkad constituency where a by-election is going to be held. The LDF workers gave a massive reception to Sarin's road show, which marked the beginning of the election campaign in Palakkad. The roadshow started at Victoria College and ended at Kotta Maiithanam. The event saw large participation from party workers. Thousands joined the rally, holding placards that read 'Sarin Bro', in a show of support. Leaders from the CPI(M) and DYFI also took part in the roadshow.

Sarin, who was KPCC's Digital Media Convenor, is contesting as the Left Independent candidate in Palakkad. He had a fallout with the Congress leadership after the Congress announced Rahul Mamkoottathil as the UDF candidate in Palakkad. Sarin had lashed out at Congress leadership during a press conference. After being expelled from Congress, LDF extended support to Sarin. Following this, CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan yesterday announced Sarin as LDF's Palakkad candidate.

Sarin began his campaign this morning by visiting visiting prominent personalities and senior political leaders in the district. Following this, the LDF decided to organise a grand reception through a roadshow. The other day, UDF candidate Rahul Mamkoottathil too received a similar reception in Palakkad. A roadshow was also organised under the leadership of Shafi Parambil MP.
